Abstract

Meiotic pairing was analyzed in wheat-rye hybrids obtained by crossing Triticum aestivum cv. Chinese Spring with Secale cereale cv. JNK carrying different number of B-chromosomes. The results showed no significant effect of rye B-chromosomes on homoeologous pairing but the variance of distribution of means of bivalent and paired chromosome complement was significantly increased when 3 or 5 B-chromosomes were present. © 1993 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
