Abstract

We report on x-ray laser experiments using the grazing-incidence pumping(GRIP) scheme with 8-ps duration, 1054-nm pump pulses and energiesup to 3 J. Intense x-ray lasing from targets of Mo, Pd, Ag, and Snhas been obtained by optimizing the prepulse configurations (longpulse – short pulse – grazing incidence).
