Abstract

The cutaneous manifestation of skin ailments has created a remarkable impetus in the field of topical drug delivery with a rationale to achieve restricted and directed delivery of drugs at the desired site of action. In this context, to further surpass drawbacks associated with inefficient drug delivery via conventional creams, gels and other topical formulations, topical nanodelivery treatment modules are being extensively explored owing to their multifaceted advantages. Herein, this chapter gives a current market and research insight in the field of topical nanointerventions from both therapeutic and cosmeceutical perspective. Additionally, the prime factor being selection of appropriate nanodelivery system, a probable scheme of selection based on literature, is also proposed.
