Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze the strategies of the urban regeneration processes for the integral and sustainable transformation of the territories with informal human settlements. The research focuses on understanding the social, urban and economic dynamics, as well as the problems of precariousness, exclusion and marginality usually originated in the consolidation of urban informality in Latin America. The results define urban regeneration strategies with an emphasis on the sustainable human development of informal settlements, seeking the improvement of decent housing, quality of life, territorial renewal and landscape rehabilitation.
