Abstract

I present three different treatments of opacity and the corresponding pro-grams: Resolved spectra and SYNTHE; Sampled spectra and ATLAS12; Low resolu-tion distribution functions and DFSYNTHE and ATLAS9. I also report on producing high-resolution, high signal-to-noise atlases for use in verifying the line data and spectrum calculations.
