Abstract

The logistics engineering evolution has been developed for cost- effectiveness proposed in various businesses, such as purchasing, inventory, and transportation. There are several purposes for the use of an application in logistics that draws on various vital factors for system implementation and evaluation. The logistic industry has grown rapidly due to the high demands of global transportation. For this paper, we implement the transportation management and logistics system by creating a web application, rather than using spreadsheets as a managerial tool for business intelligence. The system uses the “Internet of Things” concept by collecting data from diverse vehicles, routes, and drivers, and deals with appropriate transportation by matching the customer order with driver management. The essential issues consider the performance of drivers, oil consumption, and driving time. Significantly, the research accomplishes its objective as a tool to monitor those necessary circumstances in cost reduction strategies, illustrating total revenue, expenses, net profit, and measured driver behavior as key performance indicators.
