Abstract

A bizarre copepod, with 8 snake-like lateral body processes, was found in a sample with tubicolous polychaetes from Lizard Island, Great Barrier Reef. The animal is described as Octophiophora lacertae n. gen., n. sp., and its relationships with other nereicoliform Poecilostomatoida are discussed. © 1988 Taylor & Francis Group, LLC.
