An experience developed in the Polytechnic Superior Institute "José Antonio Echeverría", with the Auto-matic Engineering career students is shown. A project with an integrating characteristic subject was put into practice by the students, where they had to be able to face a task with elements studied in different subjects. According to the experience of previous years, the students do not see clearly the connections among the subjects considered. In this way an interdisciplinary vision is emphasized besides presenting the up-to-date highly motivating nanotechnology elements. Advantages of this experience are presented by the students themselves. © by the Sociedade Brasileira de Física.
