Abstract

Copolycondensation was carried out through synthesis of copolyamides and copolyesters using a direct polycondensation method with triphenylphosphine derivatives under mild conditions. Aromatic copolyamides and copolyesters were easily obtained with the same copolymer compositions as monomer feed ratios. Polyesteramides were also obtained by the direct copolycondensation method which was influenced by solvents in terms of copolymer compositions. When diaminobisphenol was used as a monomer for the direct polycondensation, either polyamide or polyester was selectively obtained using an appropriate solvent. © 1988 The Society of Polymer Science, Japan.
