Abstract

The paper uses principal-agent and transaction cost theories to analyze the concept of control in multinational enterprises in the framework of economic institutions of markets and firms which use the price system and hierarchy as methods of organizations. ■ This theoretical framework is then used to analyze some of the relationship studied in the organization theory literature of the MNE
