The Mary MacKinnon lecture for 2021 tells the story of diabetes transformation in South London using local examples of change such as Diabetes Book and Learn and You and Type 2. The focus on projects is from the perspectives of innovation, people and partnerships. The lecture outlines factors that underpin successful partnership working, enablers of whole person care and how to gain traction for projects across a wide geography alongside key outcome data. The lecture also covers the use of technology and innovation to improve the experience for both health care professionals and people with diabetes and future directions of travel.
