A novel fuzzy C-means clustering algorithm

Abstract

This paper proposes a novel fuzzy c-means clustering algorithm which treats attributes differently. Moreover, by analyzing the Hessian Matrix of the new algorithm's objective function, we get a rule of parameters' selection. The experiments demonstrate the validity of the new algorithm and the guideline for the parameters' selection. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2006.
