Abstract

The article introduces shortly the Uncanny valley hypothesis and sums up some of the research done in the field connected to it. It explores the possible new options in research or robot design which could help to subdue this uncanny obstacle on the way to a pleasant human-robot interaction. It also mentions the possible risk of an uncanny valley phenomenon the other way around, from the view of artificial intelligence (AI).
