Abstract

CT venography employs the use of contrast material-enhanced CT imaging to evaluate the venous system. In this chapter CT venography of the extremities, pulmonary, mesenteric, renal, pelvic, and iliocaval venous systems are described. The respective indications, findings on imaging, scanning protocols, advantages, and limitations are outlined in detail under each section. CT venography has potential benefits both alone and in conjunction with other modalities and can allow more informed diagnosis and pretreatment planning in a variety of clinical settings.
