Abstract

This paper presents a powerful methodology for high level synthesis providing maximum flexibility at minimum cost. The concept of rapid prototyping is adopted for hardware designs by introducing high level optimization as an alternative approach to conventional methods. It is based on a combination of VHDL as description language, synthesis tools and FPGA technology.
