Low motivation and learning outcomes are critical problems to be solved in social studies learning. This study aims to describe efforts to increase motivation and social studies learning outcomes on the impact of the interaction between spaces for class VIIF students of SMP Negeri 3 Lawang Malang Regency through the application of Snowball Throwing and Problem Based Learning models. This research design is based on classroom action research (CAR). The method of data collection was through observation, tests, questionnaires, and interviews, then the data obtained were analyzed using qualitative descriptive analysis techniques and quantitative descriptive analysis techniques. Based on the results of the analysis, student learning outcomes at the end of the second cycle increased, when compared to the pre-action. Classical completeness in cycle II reached 93.75%, indicating an increase of 40.65% from pre-action which only reached 53.1%. Based on the results obtained, it can be concluded that the application of the Snowball Throwing and Problem Based Learning model evidently can increase the motivation and learning outcomes of social studies for class VII F students of SMP Negeri 3 Lawang. It is hoped that the use of this learning model is recommended in social studies learning to overcome the problem of low motivation and student learning outcomes
