Abstract

Uromodulin also known as Tamm-Horsfall protein is a glycoprotein that in humans is encoded by the UMOD gene. During the years many studies suggest that this protein might have different role for many physiology and pathology conditions in the body and in the urinary tract system. In the review we discuss some functions of Tamm-Horsfall protein in kidney diseases.
