Abstract

The use of lead in petrol, paint and pipes has been phased out in the UK, resulting in a decrease in the amount of lead in the environment, and consequently a decrease in the levels of lead in the population. However, occasional cases of lead poisoning do still occur and doctors need to be vigilant.
