Abstract

[In the introductory part of this article the author points out the great confusion existing at present about the term and meaning of «personality» owing to its frequent use and application to several sciences and, within psychology, to different aspects of the word «psyche». The concept of personality in its strictly psychological sense is clearly defined, trying to give a unique definition as far as possible by expressing in the definition the whole external manfestations of the individual in the phenomenical field of behaviour to the exclusion of any other non psychological type, having only on account the differential element of the psychological acts or phenomena according to their three aspects susceptible of organization : the connective, the intentional and the «egosemantical» one. Finally he distinguishes the character, temperament, constitution and «diatesis» concepts from that general one and he intentionaly dwells on the notions about psychopathical and psychotechnical personality.]
