Abstract

Government agencies with a need to create emergency management applications within time constraints may find attractive the flexibility of the web services paradigm. The ACE-GIS project has the goal of providing a platform to allow software developers to compose WS applications which include discovery and processing of geographic information, critical to decision-making where location is of prime concern. This brief paper describes the architecture developed and a representative use case. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2004.
