Abstract

In this paper, we aim to reduce handover latency time. For this purpose, the proposed method takes advantage of current General Switch Management Protocol (GSMP) over Multi-Protocol Label Switching network, and presents a path change procedure. For removing triangular problem, the proposed method substitutes a controller in GSMP for the role of Home Agent in Mobile IP. Consequently, we can reduce the handover latency time because a controller in using GSMP knows the overall network configuration status without rerouting and long reporting time.
