— Radial pulse analysis is a simple and non-invasive complementary approach for the health diagnosis, popular in China in the form of Traditional Chinese Medicine. Each radial pulse point of the two hands is associated with the investigation of body organs. The proximal pulse point of left hand is believed to carry information about Urinary Tract related problems. An abnormal pulse pattern showing dicrotic notch suppression at deep pressure, for this pulse point is identified in the group of subjects suffering from Prostate Enlargement. A pulse classifier has been designed to segregate this abnormal pulse pattern from other healthy pulse patterns. Power spectral density of the pulse signal is used to derive a feature vector. Frequency domain features are ranked based on their classification power to achieve dimensionality reduction. Linear as well as Quadratic classifier are designed with optimum ranked features giving 84.68% and 90.4% classification accuracy respectively.
