Abstract

This paper concerns linear parabolic problems. The main goal is to investigate if the parabolic problems satisfy the nonnegativity conservation, i.e., if any nonnegative initial condition yields a nonnegative solution. The definition of the semidiscrete solution is based on the weak formulation of the solution to the parabolic problem.
