Reserve enough time with the employee and schedule well in advance to allow for in-depth preparation by yourself and the employee. Ask, Don't Tell Feedback is much more effective if you can get employees to see for themselves what is good in their performance. Describe, Don't Judge Feedback is not the same as criticism; feedback should be neutral and not judgmen-tal. Describe what the case is and let the employees draw their own conclusions; in particular in case of negative messages: not "you are lazy" but "during the last weeks I observed less output from you than before".
