Selective laser melting is a technology that has been booming since the 20th century, although this technology offers several advantages compared to other conventional manufacturing processes, it remains not fully under control, because the parts produced are sometimes defective, or with degraded mechanical properties. In the 1st work phase, a feasibility study of the parts produced by SLM was carried out by printing a test plate in AlSi7Mg0.6 in order to evaluate the performance of the process and minimize downtime. In the 2nd phase, and based on the results of the 1st phase, an optimization of the selective laser melting parameters: laser power, scanning speed, scanning strategy and layer thickness, was proposed to obtain samples, with maximum density and evaluate the effect of these parameters on the roughness and porosity of the part.
