Abstract

Scarring is a challenge that every procedural dermatologist encounters. It affects patients of all ages and all demographics. Left untreated, scars never go away, and rarely improve spontaneously. Even with treatment, complete resolution is near impossible. It is difficult to find another complaint that is so tied to the patient’s emotional well-being. However, if success – meaning improvement, not resolution – is met, the self-satisfaction and patient appreciation is great.
