Abstract

Using three-dimensional video recording software together with laser-infrared navigators to analyze multiple basketball players shooting 3-pointers, we studied the trajectory of the 3-point shooting and established the relationships among the release angle, drop angle and parabola height. Then a database can be established, and the 3-pointer training software and laser-infrared clewing navigators can also be developed. They are based on scientific data, which are helpful for training. We can greatly improve the shooting percentage with them. By using advanced technology and equipment, we would change the traditional training method which determines the trajectory of the ball with naked eyes. © 2011 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
