Abstract

New materials, and in particular the new laser recording technique developed at the Laboratory of Biophysics of the University of Muenster, enable the recording of high-resolution color holograms. The obtained (lateral) resolution for fine structures of scattering objects is below 3 mu m. Thus, it is possible, with the help of a microscope, to investigate the 3-D microstructure of the object from a hologram, e. g. in medical diagnostics and archaeological documentation and analysis.
