Abstract

In this chapter, we consider the surgical meeting, its place in surgical education and training and its purpose. We outline important aspects of meeting organisation such as selecting a time and place for the meeting, how to plan the meeting budget and how to select the programme and run sessions. We conclude by discussing the importance of surgical meetings in the context of continuing medical education (CME). © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2010.
