Abstract

North American Air Liquide has implemented several innovative applications of evolutionary computation and ant colony optimization. This chapter describes Air Liquide's operations and the two major areas in which optimization has significantly impacted Air Liquide: production and distribution of liquid industrial gases, and production and distribution of industrial gases via dual pipelines. © 2008 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
