Abstract

The article focuses on the deconstruction of the concept of privilege in education. Using recognition and re-evaluation approaches, privilege is demonstrated as having advantages and disadvantages. In terms of benefits, privilege provides individuals with power over the others. It also frees the privileged ones from eradicating racism. The latter benefit is closely associated with the advantages since it allowed the perpetuation of racism. It is also inclined toward dehumanization and oppression of the underprivileged.
