Abstract

Sustainable development (SD)/corporate social responsibility (CSR) is becoming increasingly important in the management of companies. The objective of this study is to identify the determinants of the engagement of Ivorian small- and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in SD/CSR. In order to achieve this objective, a methodological approach combining qualitative and quantitative approaches was adopted and the data were collected from fifty-seven (57) Ivorian SMEs from various sectors of activity. Our analyses show that SMEs in the Ivorian context adopt a posture favorable to SD/CSR in terms of personnel management, the environment, and the organizational climate.
