Abstract

There are over 1,250 species in approximately 75 genera of woody bamboos in the world. Bamboos are native to Africa, the Americas, Asia and Oceania and have been introduced into Europe. This chapter summarizes a revised list of ‘Priority Species of Bamboo and Rattan’, compiled by the International Network for Bamboo and Rattan (INBAR).
