Abstract

Metal nanorod arrays and nanotubes are expected to exhibit unusual and interesting properties for possible application in electrocatalysis and fuel cell. This work is divided into four main parts: Elaboration of the template nanostructure metals (Cu and Cu-Ni) Structural characterization (SEM, SEM-EDX) depending on experimental parameters Electrochemical characterization of the deposits towards test reaction (oxygen reduction) Preliminary data on the electroreduction of CO2 on these metal nanorods On Cu nanorods in bicarbonate solution the main reduction product of carbon. dioxide is formic acid;on (Cu-Ni)(nano) more hydrogen and traces of methane have been obtained.
