Most existing object-oriented analysis and design tools supporting various methods are stand-alone and are not agreed on a common standard. This results in the issues of tool integration in software engineering environments. Our main aim in this paper is to illustrate the integration of the analysis tool named Analyst WorkBench (AWB) supporting the O* object-oriented method in the PCTE Emeraude-based software engineering environment. The integration is achieved through data sharing and the reuse of types. The O* method and the AWB have been developed within the framework of the ESPRIT II project named Business Class.
