Abstract

In this conference, the authors present the research on position control of hydraulic cylinders that has piston on one side controlled by servo valves through oil flow. This study includes the dynamic modeling of a hydraulic cylinder with constant load, establishing the mathematical model and controller model, selecting the structural parameters of the system and assembling the experimental model, then finding the control parameters on the experimental model, and writing the program for the fuzzy PID control controller. The authors conduct the simulation of the hydraulic cylinder position using Matlab/Simulink software and also the experiment with piston displacement of 50, 100, 150, 200 (mm) to derive the delay time, settling time, overshot, and position error at steady state. From there, we evaluate the exact displacement of the piston. The results show that the accuracy of displacement of piston is as expected and it can be applied in the current machine cutting tools.
