Abstract

A review, with many refs., on drying mechanisms and phenomena during film drying which lead to defects in coatings. Surface leveling, nucleation and growth of dry regions, thinning and rupture of films, transport phenomena during film drying, and stress buildup are discussed. [on SciFinder (R)]
