Abstract

Latin America and the Caribbean islands have the highest incidence and diversity of begomoviruses in the world transmitted by the whitefly, Bemisia tabaci (the term Latin America is used here in a cultural, rather than linguistic manner, and includes all the continental countries from Mexico to Chile). © Springer Science+Business Media B.V. 2010.
