Abstract

The eyelids perform the vital functions of protecting, lubricating, and cleaning the ocular surface. Alterations in their structure or function may cause vision loss, threaten eye health, and disrupt normal appearance. This chapter discusses developmental eyelid abnormalities, evaluation of these conditions, and management considerations for these disorders.
