Abstract

Rapid technological advances have had an impact on the financial world, especially payment transactions. This development is marked by the number of electronic money transactions in Indonesia, showing that data continues to increase based on statistical results issued by Bank Indonesia for the period 2013 to 2019. The number of digital payment companies provides many choices for the public in determining which digital payment instruments will be. they use. In this case, millennials make digital payments a trend. Researchers are interested in analyzing the factors that influence society, especially the millennial generation in choosing digital payments to use. Previous research that has been carried out has never examined the choice of using digital payments with student objects as a millennial group. This study aims to analyze factors, namely social influence, hedonic motivation, promotional benefits, financial technology knowledge, perceived risk, and perceived usefulness for the interest in using digital payments among students of the Jakarta State Polytechnic, Indonesia. The research method in this research is quantitative with data analysis techniques using descriptive analytical. The results of the study using a sample of 196 respondents explained that the variables of social influence, promotional benefits, and perceived usefulness had a significant effect on the interest in using digital payments, while the variables of hedonic motivation, fintech knowledge, perceived risk had no significant effect on the interest in using digital payments. It is hoped that the results of this research will contribute, especially publishing companies can use this research as a study material to develop their business, because this millennial group has a large market potential and is responsive to technology and tends to follow trends. this research is also expected to be able to provide suggestions for improvements to the government regarding the rules in the digital payment business in the future.
