Abstract

Wyvern’s scuffle is an MMO game where players get to play with fantasy characters and environment, the environments are designed in Blender 3-D and then exported to Unreal Engine 4. One of the most essential aspects of our game is un-restricted character movement. To accomplish this, we rigged our characters which were modeled using basic mesh and sculpted to obtain the shape of a wyvern. We designed parts of our characters like head, torso, feet, tail, and wings separately and then merged these components to obtain a skeletal mesh. Materials and textures are used them to create our finished or textured avatar. Textures are applied to the model and the required materials are added to give the model visual aspects of a wyvern. The character's basic animations are compiled and applied to the character using an animation file, it contains frame-by-frame information of the character’s position in 3-D environment. Animation files like these are linked together in the character animation blueprint to give better transitions. To give a unique user interface, camera movements are utilized to navigate between menus for the player's zest. Instead of a typical soccer ball, wyverns features a one-of-a-kind Orb styled ball. The game will also allow new players to test out the game in training mode. Players can choose different avatars to play with and can compete against each other.
