Abstract

After a couple of sessions the client became aware of his inadequate thoughts concerning pain and his inadequate behavior as a consequence. Multidisciplinary interventions aiming at breaking the vicious circle of impaired functioning are effective for clients with chronic pain. However, because of the growing number of people with such complaints, these interventions cannot be provided totally on a face-to-face basis. Therefore, the possibilities of intervention in the client's daily environment professionally supervised through distance learning, that is, telemedicine, need to be considered. © Springer Science + Business Media, LLC 2009.
