Abstract

This paper presents a methodology to simulate 3D cuts in deformable objects. It uses an explicit unite element approach to simulate deformations in real-time. We use a non-linear strain tensor formulation (Green tensor) to allow large displacements. Haptics is used to allow touching sensation of the cutting procedure. © Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg 2003.
