Abstract

We observed an independent association between vitamin D insufficiency and higher carotid intima-media thickness in a cross-sectional analysis of 139 HIV-infected persons. If confirmed, these findings support a clinical trial of vitamin D supplementation to reduce cardiovascular events in HIV-infected persons. © 2011 The Author.
