This research article focuses on application of open flow protocol which is a very useful milestone for researchers to run experimental protocols in their daily used network. Open flow protocol is based on the traditional Ethernet switch, with an internal flow table and a standardized interface for the perspective of adding and removing flow entries. The primary focus of our research is to encourage networking vendors to include open flow applicability into their switch like products for deployment in institute or university level campuses. We also assume that open flow is a pragmatic compromise, in one side it allows researcher to execute their developed experiments and in other side the vendors do not need to disclose the internal working of their product switch. In other words open flow allows researchers to evaluate their ideas in real world traffic setting; hence open flow came into existence with a useful campus component in proposed large scale test beds like Global Environment for Networking Innovations (GENI).
