Abstract

Project portfolio management is an approach based on the knowledge of project management, in which the management system focuses on a combination of projects with specific goals and conditions and is considered to be a higher level of project management in organizations. In this management system, the main objective is to design and implement projects that can ultimately facilitate the achievement of the project organization for its strategic goals. Selection of suitable projects, proper allocation of limited resources of the organization, realization of the emphasis of the strategic statement, coordination and synergy in the portfolio of organizational projects and the provision of health The organizational relations of project managers are among the most important theoretical foundations of this system. In this paper, the purpose of presenting concepts related to this approach is to discuss such definitions, models, the process of establishing the maturity model of the project portfolio management system, and how to form and collate the project portfolio. The description of the nature of the Project Management Offices (PMO) and the system Project Management Office (SPO) is another topic that will be addressed in this article.
