Abstract

Continuous integration in software development is a practice recommended by the most important development methodologies. It promises many advantages such as early detection of bugs. An important element of continuous integration, although largely forgotten by the scientific literature, is the trigger, which initiates the process of building software from development sources. This paper discusses the possibility of improving this software component and opens the way for research that could be applied to other computer-related fields. To this end, we have implemented a prototype that shows for a case study, the results obtained when using existing triggers. © 2010 Springer-Verlag Berlin Heidelberg.
