Poverty, Deprivation, and Social Class

Abstract

This chapter discusses alternative conceptualisations of poverty, deprivation, and exclusion. It presents multidimensional constructs and topics close to the study of economics and ageing, including financial distress, financial security, and poverty persistence. It describes alternative theories of poverty and the question of social class and later life.
