Abstract

This article aims to identify the most significant challenges in Higher Education according to teachers' perception of a public university in western Mexico. It was situated as a non-experimental, descriptive-cross-sectional investigation, with a mixed approach, in which through the Content Analysis method and the application of Brainstorming and Focus Group tools, the criteria of 160 teachers were analyzed and classified. The result yields a list of the most significant challenges facing Higher Education in Mexico. These challenges are directly associated with the flexibility and updating of educational programs, the link between universities and the labor market, and the imminent training in digital skills for teachers.
