Abstract

Background: Stunting is the most common malnutrition condition found in children around the world. Many factors may affect toddler nutritional status and cause stunting in them. They include genetic factors, family socioeconomic level, medical history, and feeding practices. The present study aims to determine factors associated with stunting in children aged 1 to 5 years. Subjects and Method: This was a cross-sectional study. A sample of 109 mothers with children aged 1 to 5 years was selected by a proportional random sampling. The dependent variable was stunting. The independent variables were genetic factors, family socioeconomic level, medical history, and feeding practices. The data were collected by questionnaire that has been validated for contents.
